Chemical industry

The rapid development of Industry 4.0 and the digital transformation forced the chemical industry to integrate new IT technologies into the OT operating environment. Chemical companies more and more often demonstrate increased awareness of risks related to business continuity and cybersecurity, occurring not only in IT networks, but also in OT networks. Ongoing convergence of Information Technology (IT) networks and Operational Technology (OT) networks increases complexity and vulnerability to industrial control systems (ICS) threats

Challenges

Today's challenges in the chemical industry

In many production networks there is still the problem of incomplete infrastructure inventory and, as a consequence, industrial plants are not aware of the current network architecture and the services it provides. This results in security systems vulnerabilities that pose a challenge not only to security teams, but to the entire organization.

`

Maintaining continuity and security of production is a key task for the chemical industry. In practice, this means the need to secure systems that enable control, control, monitoring and reporting of all remote and privileged infrastructure access points. The most important and vulnerable are SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems, where the operator manages the plant's devices and equipment from the console level.

Threats
No secure updates
Need to operate 24/7 365 days a year
Not supporting protocols
Public access to the OT network
Not supporting OT networks
No OT network segmentation
There are no good practices for creating pass

Why
Scadvance XP ?

Scadvance XP® supports you manage business and operatio

The system provides knowledge about the current network
architecture: identifies devices, draws up network maps, monitors
critical processes by analyzing automation traffic supporting
the risk and business continuity management process. See more about Scadvance XP

Scadvance XP® monitors industrial automation systems

Real-time monitoring is based on both artificial intelligence
and rule-based methods, whitelists, etc. The system monitors
the industrial network with the use of an advanced analytical
engine, which, using artificial intelligence models, immediately
identifies events deviating from the standard behavior
of the industrial network.
Scadvance XP® does not affect monitored OT networks
and devices. Traffic monitoring works passively and
non-invasively as the probes are galvanically isolated from
the monitored network. The hardware probes and their software
are designed and manufactured by ICsec - this ensures full control
over the production process.
The system supports specialized protocols and is independent
of the ICS control systems manufacturers and suppliers. See more about Scadvance XP

Scadvance XP® adjusts procedures to legal requirements

Scadvance XP® collects information about threats and vulnerabilities. Thanks to the built-in workflow system, it enables the classification of an event into an incident, saving at the same time the history of the process, actions taken, responsible persons and a copy of the traffic that documents the course of the incident. The reporting function helps the user to automate the alerting of incidents as part of their own security system (Security Operation Center) or as part of the fulfillment of obligations under the KSC Act.
